Simple Morning Strategies for High Impact Results

When you start your day is not important.

How you start your day is important, though.

Most gurus and millionaires will tell you to wake up somewhere between 4–6am to get the ‘jump start’ you need.

This isn't the case.

Sure, adding a few more hours in your day is great. But if you are sacrificing quality rest to get it, its counter-productive.

Setting yourself up for success

The way we start our day is critical to our mindset. If you roll out of bed cursing or feeling sorry for yourself, chances are you will stay with that same mentality all day.

Make it a point to create a few good habits for your mornings, and stay consistent. Your chances of success will increase dramatically.

Whether your day starts at the crack of dawn or the crack of noon, laying the proper foundation will make a noticeable difference.

Here are 4 Simple Strategies to Skyrocket Your Success:

1. Prime Your Brain

The first 20 minutes of your day is more critical than any other part of your waking hours. During these first few minutes, your mind is operating in the alpha stage.

This means that your brain waves are at a lower cycle per minute than any other conscious time.

Use this direct link to your subconscious mind to your advantage and set the stage for a productive, positive and proud day.

Imagine you have a blank canvas in front of you. You are told to cover the canvas with images and words that describe your ideal day and life.

These images and words then get imprinted on your brain and stay there forever.

This is how it works.

There are a number of ways you can make the most out of this daily opportunity.

  • Write out some affirmations and read them to yourself every morning.
  • Create a vision board and spend a few minutes envisioning what your ideal life looks like.
  • Do a guided meditation or review your goals and dreams.

Use this time wisely.

Don't check your emails, turn on the television, or start scrolling on social media first thing in the morning.

Are those really what you want imprinted on your mind for the day?

2. Pump Oxygen to Your Brain and Body

Some people swear by intense exercise first thing in the morning. I am not suggesting that you try and squeeze in a quick 5 mile run every day.

I am suggesting that you prime your body and mind for success.

What’s more important than the intensity of morning exercise is the reason behind it. Physical activity creates heavier breathing patterns, which allows more oxygen to be absorbed into the bloodstream.

Getting your blood pumping improves focus and mental ability- even more so than a cup of coffee.

If you want to be functioning at your highest caliber, then make morning movement a priority. This can be as easy as some simple stretches or going for a 10 minute walk.

Do some yoga moves or challenge yourself to learn tai-chi.

The more intense the better, but something is always better than nothing.

If you go from your bed immediately to your car or desk, you are limiting your potential. Do whatever you can to break a sweat — your body and mind will thank you.

3. Create a Positive Environment

Our environments are imperative for our mental health as well as productivity, so take a look at the spaces that you spend most of your time.

  • Is your floor covered in clothes?
  • Does the amount of paperwork on your desk make you feel overwhelmed?
  • Do you have a half-finished project stacked in the corner?

Every morning before you start your day, spend a few minutes on your environments. This is an excellent way of showing gratitude for your possessions and what you have in your life.

It also starts your day with an immediate sense of accomplishment.

Creating a healthy environment can be incredibly simple. Do the dishes. Tidy up your room. Make your bed. Organize the bathroom drawer.

Physical clutter and chaos create mental clutter and chaos.

We absorb energy from our physical environments, so create a space that is inspiring, and not expiring.

Small efforts in this sector of your life can have a massive impact.

Start small if you need to.

“If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.”-Napoleon Hill

4. Organize Your Thoughts

Sometimes upon waking, it feels like a flood of thoughts rushing in like an avalanche about to bury us.

Instead of letting these thoughts overwhelm you, take a few minutes to recognize them and jot them down. When your mind is buzzing with ideas and rapid-fire thoughts, seize the opportunity.

Our brains and minds are fresh in the morning, and often when they are the most creative. Keep a notebook or journal handy and let things flow.

Did you have a dream that is still floating around in your head? Write a few lines about what you can remember.

Have a laundry list of things you need to do today? Make a list.

Whatever your mind is swimming in, let it out.

When we write things down, it relieves the feeling of overwhelm and anxiety that may be lurking in the background. It also allows us to let the creative process flow organically and at a natural pace.

So put it down on paper- it may lead you to your next million dollar idea.

“There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that’s your own self.”-Aldous Huxley

Its up to you, and only you.

We all have an opportunity to make the most out of every day. Small daily habits can make considerable upgrades to our lives in a short period of time.

It’s entirely up to you what mindset and life you create for yourself.

It takes anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months to create a habit and ingrain it into our minds and lifestyles.

Take the time now to create positive habits that will propel you forward. Isnt it time to level up your game?
